Humbleness

Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another;
be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate
and humble.
1 Peter 3:8

Humility is a most essential and distinguishing trait
in all true spirituality.

Pride is not power but the building of bars for a soul's prison.
An idolatrous crutch for propping up arrogant, scornful, stubborn, willful, leveling, self-justifying...
the weak who think themselves strong by holding themselves a little higher than their nature can spare.

Rely only on Christ!

The truly free spirit, in working, only seeks to do good to others;
it denies itself; it never expected to be well treated;
it did not aim at being honored;
it never sought itself, but purposed only to do good to others.
It is the proud spirit that gets tired of doing good if it finds its labors not appreciated.*

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward
one another, because God opposes the proud but
gives grace to the humble.
1 Peter 5:5
